The Woody


We are pleased to announce the arrival of the new WOODY WOOD FIRED OVEN, the first 2 storey wood fired oven with cooking on the spit abilities in the world!

One of the great things about the Woody is that it allows you to cook twice as much food, in half the normal wood fired ovens cooking time. Its capabilities are UNBELIEVABLE!

Our ovens are made in the traditional way using clay bricks which gives it that natural flavour while cooking. The structure is simple using a method dated back in the history books. Clay bricks are better to use as they retain more heat and do not crack over duration unlike concrete bricks.

The Woody with its versatility can be used for commercial use or just as a family entertainer catering for large parties for a 100 or more.

The top storey can be used to either place 2 large cooking pans, which are capable of holding 4 chickens in one pan and variety of vegetables in the other, or cook an entire animal on the spit, whilst the bottom storey can be cooking your entrees, whether its garlic prawns, chicken wings or just a variety of pizza’s.

The four doors enable you to view each of your foods as they cook, no heat will be lost by opening just one door at a time.

COOKING ON THE SPIT

The most exciting thing about the Woody is while cooking whole pigs, goats or lambs, you don't need to use a rotisserie, you just place your meat on the spit, as the heat is consistent all around the meat, the food cook’s thoroughly and the end result is magnificent.

When using this method, place the charcoal coals along the sides of the oven and then insert the grease tray to draw away the fats for a wonderful result. Pigs take about 5 hours.

You can open one door to check cooking every hour. No heat is lost.

The wonderful advantage of the four doors is that you can see each dish and how it is cooking by opening the appropriate door. Please note that the spit rod is not included in the kit.
